Activities to Promote Science

Denise Chrisman, Amanda Quirk, Emily McWhirter

Science, like math, is everywhere. Being involved in science does not necessarily mean tinkering with a chemistry set. Point out a few of these activities to her and have her brainstorm a few ideas of her own. Encourage her to engage in an activity that relates to science.

  • Make Tie Dye T-shirts
  • Blend colors for make-up
  • Star gaze
  • Cook or bake
  • Discover the ocean
  • Perm or relax your hair
  • Plant a garden
  • Go for a nature walk
  • Mix hair color
  • Give someone a static electricity shock…
