Strong
communities serve as a protective factor for girls. Getting girls and
their families involved within their communities helps to strengthen
them. When girls are familiar with their community and become involved
in activities, they may begin to develop a sense a pride not only in
their community but also themselves. Both the girls and the community
benefit from involvement.
