Other Project Ideas
Interested in working on issues related to youth and family policy or
practice in your community? Below are some ideas to help get you started.
- Write
an article about the positive contributions of young people in your
community. Submit it for publication in your school or local commercial
newspaper.
- Develop
a resource guide for elementary and junior high school students that
provides information on how they can become involved in the community
and lists resource agencies from which they can seek assistance/support.
- Develop
a guide for other high school students on how they can volunteer to
work with young people in your community, such as by tutoring or mentoring
a younger person or helping out in a youth service agency.
- Offer
to serve as a youth representative to a local youth service agency
board of directors or for the editorial board of your local newspaper.
Share your opinion about how young people might best be supported
within the community.
- Talk
to your parents about how the family could become involved in a volunteer
project to benefit young people and the community.
