Group Work

For professionals with a heavy caseload, time is a factor. The concept of sitting down with the girls and getting to know them sounds wonderful. The reality of the situation is there simply isn't always enough time. There are ways to get to know them as well as establish relationships without working overtime five days a week. If it is possible, and it will take extra effort, form a girls group. These groups provide an excellent environment to get to know the girls and also give the girls a chance to see the professionals as human beings. person. It will provide the perfect opportunity to model appropriate behaviors, discuss relevant issues, and assess what's going on in their world in a non threatening, comfortable environment. The groups can be for emotional support, educational, or whatever seen as needed with the girls.
