Body Sculpting Friendship

Girls Circle Inc.
www.Girlscircle.com

The objective of this activity is to allow the girls to participate in a body sculpting activity that will allow them non - verbally to express how they view their friendships.

  1. Start with one girl (ask for a volunteer), and have her pick 3-4 girls in the group to be a part of her sculpture.

  2. Tell the girls to "sculpt" these girls into a shape that is expressive of how she sees or experiences her friendships. She may sculpt herself into the scene.

  3. Tell them that they can direct their arms, legs, stance, facial expressions in any position they want until they feel "complete" with their body sculpture.

  4. When complete, have the girls freeze in the sculpted position while the audience reflects on the image for a brief moment.

  5. Continue in this manner until each girls gets a chance to sculpt her friendship.

  6. Discuss when all girls complete their sculpture. Allow each girls to explain their own ideas and what their sculpture meant.

** You may substitute other concepts to sculpt (i.e. authority figures, family, happiness, etc)
