is a simple and creative way to let girls know you are aware of their
positive qualities.
It is very
important we acknowledge positive qualities as well as the accomplishments
of the girls we are working with. This is a simple way to give girls
the compliments they deserve. The compliments are given in a manner
that allows the girls to have a keepsake to remind them of their accomplishments.
Supplies:
Small wooden
Treasure Box
Fancy beads
- On
small pieces of paper, write the qualities she possesses which you
admire as well as her accomplishments. Be sure to express your pride.
- Roll
the paper and insert it into the fancy beads.
- Fill
the treasure box with these beads.
The Treasure
Box is symbolic that she is treasured and possesses "treasured"
qualities.
If you
give this to her individually, you may allow her to read it with you
and discuss the qualities. If you are doing this activity in a group
setting, you may want to let the girls open their treasure box privately.
This is personal to her and her privacy should be respected.
