One

To apply:  Please complete a State of North Carolina Employment Application (PD-107).  Important: If applying for one of the Certified Positions listed below, you must submit a Criminal History Record Check Request (HR 11.2 003) along with your application. Your application is not complete and cannot be considered without a completed, signed consent form. You must include your signature. In addition, please attach a Certified True copy of the court disposition (with original seal/stamp) to your application, for any charges listed on the Criminal History Check Form. Certified True copies are provided by the clerk of court of the jurisdiction.

If applying for multiple positions, you must complete a separate State Application for each individual position, and please be sure to specify the vacancy number and job title for which you are applying.

NOTE: Applicants with an incomplete degree must submit a college transcript of courses completed. The department recognizes degrees in counseling and guidance, psychology, social work, special education and therapeutic recreation as human services degrees. All applicants applying for youth counselor, youth counselor supervisor, and juvenile court counselor positions without a human services degree must also submit a college transcript.

The contact person listed on the vacancy must receive your application and HR 11.2 003 by 5:00 pm on the closing date. Faxed and/or emailed documents CANNOT be accepted. State applications (PD-107), and job postings can be obtained from all state government offices, local libraries, Employment Security Commission offices, and on the Internet.

 All applicants applying for criminal justice positions must also go through a screening process. This process includes a general interview, verification of required education/experience, a criminal history check, drug testing, finger printing, a psychological evaluation, and a physical examination.
